“Which part of Pattaya would you pick for a retired couple?”
My answerShane Ruddle, 20+ years in PattayaJomtien. It's quieter, you're right by the sea, and there are lots of retired couples, so it's easy to make friends.
Jomtien also has older buildings, which helps: ฿20,000 a month usually gets you a bigger one-bed than in Pratumnak or Wongamat.
If, after a few years, Jomtien still feels a bit busy, the natural next step is East Pattaya.
Rent first and spend a whole day walking around before you choose.
