Very safe, in my experience. In over 20 years I've never felt my kids were at risk from crime. The real danger is the roads.

If you drive your children around in a car, you're in good shape. On a motorbike, everyone needs a helmet and you need to be an experienced rider.

The nightlife doesn't really touch family life, because families don't live near it. Most live in East Pattaya, where you'd barely notice it.
